Spirit of Atlanta has always been about more than music. For nearly five decades, the corps has provided transformative experiences for young performers, teaching discipline, teamwork, and leadership that last a lifetime. As Spirit prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary, the organization is inviting new voices to join its Board of Directors and help carry the mission forward.
The Board of Directors plays a vital role in ensuring Spirit continues to thrive. Board members provide guidance on strategy, help strengthen community relationships, and support fundraising efforts that make participation possible for hundreds of students each year. Their leadership ensures Spirit of Atlanta remains financially strong, mission-driven, and student-centered.
This is a pivotal moment in the life of the corps. Spirit is growing its reach, expanding youth programs, and preparing for a milestone anniversary season. Board members will help shape how the organization invests in its future, engages with alumni, and connects more deeply with the Atlanta community. Joining the board means being part of the work that will define Spirit for the next 50 years.
Serving on the Spirit of Atlanta Board of Directors is both meaningful and rewarding. The organization is seeking leaders from a wide range of backgrounds who are passionate about youth development, education, and the arts. Whether your expertise is in business, finance, education, nonprofit leadership, or marketing, your skills can help Spirit achieve its goals and expand its impact.
“Serving on the Spirit of Atlanta Board of Directors is about more than governance. It is about investing in the lives of young people,” said George Dickinson, Board President. “Our members gain friendships, discipline, and confidence that last a lifetime. As board members, we have the privilege of helping create those opportunities, and we welcome those who are ready to join us in that mission.”
